My Background
I was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. I currently live with my family just outside Springfield, Missouri.
I graduated from BYU in 2020 with a double major in Physiology and Developmental Biology and Spanish and I minored in Family Life. I planned to be a PA so after I graduated, I worked for over a year in healthcare as a CNA in an Assisted Living Facility, a Psych Tech at the Mental Hospital and a Medical Assistant in a Family Practice clinic. When I married and started my own family, I decided to stay home with my children full-time. Now, I work as doula because I am passionate about birth and everything that comes with it!
The human body truly is God’s crowning creation and I marvel at a mother’s role in carrying, birthing and rearing her precious babies.
A Doula Makes all the Difference!
I delivered my first son in a hospital because I’d never given birth before and didn’t know what to expect. While I was able to achieve my goal of having a natural and unmedicated birth, labor was extremely long and excruciating. It didn’t turn out the way I had hoped so I knew that I wanted to do things differently the next time.
With my second son, I opted to have a water birth at home. This time, my labor progressed faster and things went much more smoothly. There were many factors that contributed to this but between both births, one aspect that remained the same was having a doula. My husband and I still say that we could never have done it without one!
My hope is to be that doula for you, whose presence—no matter what setting or what way you give birth—will help your overall experience be as positive as possible!
